Clinique Super City Block Oil-free Face Protector – Review

Clinique has come up with their new sunscreen Super City Block, an oil free daily face protector broad spectrum SPF 40. The high level daily sunscreen protects the face against sun and environmental damages with broad spectrum UVA and UVB sun block antioxidants.

Contents (according to Allure):

The main ingredients of the sunscreen are vitamin E, licorice extract, ), gentian extract (soothing botanical), Titanium dioxide and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (sunscreens), as well as magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (antioxidants).

Review:

The main USP of the cream is its sheer weightless formula for which it can be used by all skin types including the most sensitive and oily ones. Besides being used as a sun block, the cream can also be an invisible makeup primer.

Pros:

The cream is beige in color but does not leave the skin feeling chalky.

Cons:

The cream is priced quite high at US$21, when the same features are often found in a US$ 5 cream.  Super City Block also doesn’t moisturize well, so a person with dry skin may have to apply additional moisturizer over it. The sun block also leaves a grainy feel on the face and doesn’t blend well with the skin.

Our Rating: 3.5/5
